I love crafting and finding new craft ideas, but I’m always afraid that, when making things by hand instead of buying them at the store, I’m actually spending a lot more money than I had set out to. Does anyone else ever have that fear?
It’s like, “Oh my gosh, this canvas craft would look great on my fireplace! Let me pick up a canvas and some paint and some gemstones and some ribbon and…” and before you know it, you’ve practically cleaned out Michael’s (as well as your poor wallet). And that’s just on a single craft project. I really hope it’s not just me who this happens to, because that would be embarrassing.
So, what do I do when I find new and exciting craft ideas? Well, I budget myself. If there’s any way for me to make the crafts for under $10, I’m totally doing them. If not, then I have to consider if the craft in question is worth not making another craft so that I can spend more on it. Lucky for me (and thrifty people like me), cheap craft projects exist and they can be pretty awesome.
Personally, I’m all about the home and garden DIY life. That’s where my passion is. I’m constantly scrolling through Pinterest and CraftGawker for new craft ideas for things in my home. However, I do love to make a nice and cozy cowl or glam bracelet every once in a while too. I’m a Jane of all trades, what can I say?
Here are my top 10 favorite craft ideas to make for $10 or less. (I’m hoping to get through the list by the end of this year. I’ve already gotten #2 out of the way!)
