How to Make Pom Pom Easter Eggs

March 30, 2021 by Stefanie Girard Leave a Comment

These fun little pom pom Easter eggs are especially fun to make since the final tool used is the same one I use to keep my sweaters in tip-top shape! (Yeah, there’s one of my extra special puns 🙂 )

OK, but seriously: if you are as much of a pom pom fanatic as I am, then I bet you will have so much fun making these in all sorts of pretty color combinations.

I used pre-made pom poms, but if you like to make your own, they will work too.

I went through my pom pom stash and had fun selecting combinations of colors. I wanted them to be all different orders but still to coordinate.

To glue them together, start with the largest pom pom and separate the fibers down to the center. Do the same thing to the middle pom pom.

Place the hot glue onto the center and press the two pom poms together firmly while the hot glue sets and cools.

Repeat this step to combine the medium pom pom and the smallest pom pom.

To do the rough shaping of the pom poms into an egg shape, use a sharp pair of scissors to trim the sides and round the ends.

The final step is to smooth and shape the pom poms with a sweater shaver. If you haven’t used a sweater shaver, they are a great tool to keep your sweaters looking great. However, I use them as well in crafting with pom poms.

Lightly run the sweater shaver over the pom pom to round out the shape; it also fluffs the ends of the pom poms. (Sometimes the pom poms can get mushed a bit if they are packed tight.)

As you can see, I made a whole bunch of pom pom eggs and paired them up with my Bunny Peeps. I was thinking about adding some wiggle eyes to them. What do you think?

Happy Easter!
